Surroundings

Our Bed and Breakfast is situated on the isle of Dordrecht nearby "the Elzen", cycletracks Crosspoints 75/81 and 42 and in the tracks of the Floris de V walking tour. Dordrecht is the oldest city of Holland.

You can enjoy:

  • The rivers meeting the old city entrance at the Riverside (Groothoofd),
  • The historic canals and docks are nice to make a boattrip,
  • The "Dordtse Dom" (Grote Kerk),
  • The Court (‘het Hof’) where the States-General decide to translate the bible in Dutch (Staten vertaling) and
  • the old city hall.

All are important parts of the historic city centre. Movie fans may recognise the famous sights shown in movies. Dordrecht has museums, theatres and a cinema. Large stores but also small special shops to please the shopaholics! The gourmets can eat in a lot of different restaurants.

There are many events organised in Dordrecht. Such as: Dordrecht Steam, Christmas Fair, Kings day (April 27, 2015), puppet festival and music festivals. Go to "Links" to find website of the site of the tourist information (VVV Dordrecht) or the Dordrecht cultural agenda. Dordrecht is a fine starting point for sightseeings of importance who are close by through means of traffic like the train or ferries for example to Rotterdam. The windmills of Kinderdijk are a must to visit.
